The Power of Acceptance by God
The awareness of acceptance by God can take you to new heights. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross enables anyone who believes in it to become a child of God. We all are or were people of God, but we can become children of God. This does not happen through human power, but through the acceptance of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Rebirth: A New Creation in Christ
This transformation is also called spiritual rebirth. Once you are renewed, you are a new creation in God, the old has passed away. You are no longer under the jurisdiction of God’s law that condemns you to death. This death sentence was already fulfilled through the death of Christ on the cross. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1). Thus, as a child of God, no condemnation can come upon you, even if you make mistakes. For you are a new creature, healed, sanctified, justified.
The Father-Son Relationship and Its Significance
God is not a child-killer; He is kind and does not cast you out of the kingdom of God. Be aware of the salvation and do not take off the helmet of salvation (the awareness that you are saved forever), even if powers or (even seemingly pious) people want to doubt this.
The Parable of the Prodigal Son: Repentance and Acceptance
It does not take great repentance to come to God. This may not seem like a very pious statement, but consider the parable of Jesus about the prodigal son. He decided to come home to the father. At that moment, he was probably just hungry and tired of living in the dirt. Repentance was probably not at the forefront. However, the father ran to him when he saw him (and God has good eyes…). The son did not even have a chance to properly deliver his confession of sins before the father embraced him.
God’s Love and Gifts: Eternal Life
God, the Father, is not a heartless tyrant waiting with a stick when you come home. In His love, He has prepared many gifts for you. But the greatest of these is probably eternal life in His loving presence. This life begins with the acceptance of Christ. It is not a pious set of rules meant to torment you, but a new quality of life. “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10).
The Shalom Blessing: Meaning and Impact
The entire Shalom blessing is now promised to you. Shalom has a great meaning. The Hebrew word “Shalom” is often translated as “peace,” but it means much more than that. Shalom encompasses peace, harmony, wholeness, completeness, prosperity, well-being, and tranquility. It is a state of perfect peace where all aspects of life are in harmony.
In Jewish tradition and Christianity, Shalom is a central concept describing the kind of life God wants for His children. It is not just the absence of conflict, but a deep sense of well-being and fulfillment. When you live in the acceptance of God, He promises you this comprehensive peace.
Shalom also means finding inner peace and security, regardless of external circumstances. It is the knowledge that God takes care of you and guides you through all life’s challenges. This blessing also extends to your relationships, your workplace, your health, and your finances. Everything in your life should be permeated by this divine peace.
Living in Shalom means living in the fullness of God, where lack, fear, and worry have no place. It is a life carried by the grace of God, enabling you to experience His love and peace in every situation.
